Itinerary

DAY 1

Welcome to Nova Scotia

Prince George Hotel or similar, Halifax

Welcome Dinner, Local Wines

Upon your arrival today, a prearranged airport transfer will whisk you directly to our central Halifax hotel. We’ll kick off our adventure by stepping through the doorway of one of Halifax's oldest historic stone buildings, dating back to the 1700s. Here, we'll share a welcome dinner filled with old-world charm.

After satisfying our taste buds, we’ll make our way down to the harbour just before sunset for a cruise along the harbour and the narrows of Halifax’s Northwest Arm. Take in the breathtaking historical homes while enjoying a selection of local wines. It’s the perfect first day of a journey you won't soon forget!

DAY 2

Kayaking and Glacial Landscapes

Prince George Hotel or similar, Halifax

Breakfast, Lunch

Today is all about immersing ourselves in the great outdoors! We'll kick off the day with some kayaking, launching from a stunning site 30 minutes outside Halifax, suitable for all skill levels. Amidst scenic islands and towering glacial erratic rocks, we'll keep our eyes peeled for playful seals and other marine life.

For lunch, indulge in an Atlantic Canada classic -lobster rolls and a mussel boil- a feast to savor. Our journey continues to Peggy’s Cove, a delightful fishing village adorned with brightly colored houses, weathered fishing shacks, and an iconic lighthouse. Little wonder it's one of Canada’s most photographed places! If time (and energy levels) allow, we’ll take a short and relatively easy hike through the barren landscape surrounding Peggy’s Cove.

DAY 3

Small Town Maritime Charm

Queen Anne Inn, Annapolis Royal

Breakfast, Dinner

Today we’ll leave Nova Scotia’s pulsing capital and make our way to the South Shore, where towns ooze with maritime charm. Immerse yourself in local lore with a master storyteller guiding you through the hidden corners of the quaint community of Blue Rocks, a haven for artists and fishermen alike.

Explore the colorful streets of the historic and picturesque Lunenburg, one of only two North American cities designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Artisans thrive here, upholding traditional craftsmanship.

We’ll end our day with cocktails in hand and a special (surprise) performance followed by a remarkable 7 course feast in Annapolis Royal, the oldest European settlement north of Florida and the birthplace of the Acadian people.

DAY 4

Whale of an Adventure

Queen Anne Inn, Annapolis Royal

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This morning, set out on an exhilarating maritime adventure as we head to the remote Brier Island for an unforgettable experience on the Bay of Fundy. Geared up in bright orange flotation suits, we’ll zoom around the bay in a rigid hull zodiac with a local expert, exploring the important feeding areas that are home to some of the world’s rarest whales. Feel the adrenaline surge through you as powerful whales breach just meters away from our zodiac, an intimate encounter with these awe-inspiring creatures. If we’re really lucky, we might even glimpse an endangered right whale. Stay on the lookout for dolphins, porpoises, seals, and a wide variety of seabirds, including puffins! We’ll end the day feasting on lobster, every bite reminding us of the region’s rich maritime bounty.

DAY 5

High Tides and Gemstones

Tattingstone Inn, Wolfville

Breakfast, Lunch

Following a leisurely morning with time to visit the farmer’s market or some of the historical sites in Annapolis Royal, we’ll head out to the fascinating shores of the Bay of Fundy. Home to the highest tides on earth, this fascinating bay was selected in 2014 as one of the natural wonders of the world.

Guided by a world-renowned local expert, we’ll explore the shores in search of our very own gemstones. We’ll even have the option of commissioning him to turn our finds into unique pieces of jewelry. Later, we’ll step into the Tangled Garden, an enchanting place willed into existence by one woman's passion for beauty and her ability to marry an artist’s eye and a farmer’s industrious spirit. We’ll wander through her gorgeous, wild garden and sample some mouth watering, homemade ice cream.
