Itinerary

DAY 1

Welcome to Andalucia

Hotel Castillo de Monda

Welcome Dinner

Private transportation whisks you from Málaga (city center or airport) directly to the hilltop town of Monda, where the silhouette of a medieval castle appears above the village: your home for the opening nights of this tour. Nearly a thousand years of history live in these ancient stone walls, now reimagined into one of Andalucía's most atmospheric places to stay, with sweeping views across the Sierra de las Nieves and an ambiance that sets the tone for everything that follows. A welcome dinner, local wine, and the chance to connect with your new travel companions. The journey has begun.

DAY 2

Ancient Landscapes, Simple Pleasures

Hotel Castillo de Monda

Breakfast, Almuerzo, Dinner

Wake slowly at the castle; coffee on the terrace or register for a yoga class, with no early morning rush. Later, the coach heads north through some of Andalucía's most quietly beautiful countryside. Midway, a stop at a traditional venta, the kind of Spanish roadside inn that has been feeding travellers and locals for centuries. A quick almuerzo (think mid-morning bite, somewhere between breakfast and lunch) before continuing to El Torcal de Antequera. One of the most surreal landscapes in Europe, El Torcal is a maze of ancient limestone formations sculpted by millennia of wind and rain into shapes that seem borrowed from another planet. A guided walk reveals why this place has inspired wonder since prehistoric times. The day ends at a family-run mesón so local it barely has a sign! Dinner built around a wood-fired BBQ and the easy warmth of an evening that feels less like a restaurant and more like being invited to a friend's home.

DAY 3

A Creative Morning, A Living Garden

Hotel Castillo de Monda

Breakfast, Lunch

La Baltasara is not on most tourist maps but it should be. This intimate estate was the beloved home of Antonio Gala: poet, playwright, novelist, and one of the most cherished voices in 20th century Spanish culture. While his name may not cross oceans, in Spain he is the kind of figure whose words people carry with them for life. To spend a morning here is to step into a very private corner of Spanish intellectual and artistic life. The afternoon shifts to a family-owned organic garden tucked into the Málaga countryside, where a simple tasting experience rooted in pure local tradition awaits.

DAY 4

A Different Kind of Spanish Story

Hotel Palacio de la Duquesa, Ronda

Breakfast, Lunch

This morning, Monda is left behind as the coach winds deeper into the Andalucían interior. But before reaching our next city,  a stop at a working finca dedicated to the breeding of the legendary toro bravo. We’ll step into a fascinating and little known world where these majestic animals live semi-wild across vast open pastures, raised with extraordinary care in one of the most unique livestock traditions in Europe. A guided visit and torero masterclass offer a window into this centuries-old culture, followed by lunch on the property. By afternoon, Ronda. Perched above a dramatic gorge that splits the old town in two, it is one of those places that looks invented. The evening is yours to explore freely, dine at your own pace, and sleep in the heart of the old town in a beautifully restored palace that feels like a natural extension of the city itself.

DAY 5

Where the Road Meets the Mediterranean

Hotel Pilar Andalucia or similar, Estepona

Breakfast, Dinner

The morning belongs to Ronda: a guided walk through the old town that goes beyond the famous bridge and into the quieter streets. The afternoon brings the Mediterranean into view as the coach descends to Estepona, a town whose identity has been shaped by the sea for centuries. Long before tourism arrived, this was a fishing village, and that connection to the ocean runs deep: in the boats still pulled up on the beach, in the families who have worked these waters for generations, and in the stories the locals carry quietly with them. As evening falls, the group heads to the beach where a master espetero tends his craft over open fire.: espetos, whole sardines skewered on bamboo canes and grilled at the water's edge, are one of the most iconic dishes of the Málaga coast. Eaten on the beach as the sun drops into the sea, they taste like the place itself.

DAY 6

An Ancient Coast, A Living Tradition

Hotel Casa del Califa, Vejer de la Frontera

Breakfast, Lunch

The morning opens on the Atlantic at one of the most unspoiled beaches in southern Spain, with the shores of Africa in full view across the water and backed by Roman ruins that once formed a thriving trading city; remarkably preserved and largely unknown to the wider world. The coach continues to Barbate, where the ancient almadraba tradition is practiced. For over three thousand years, fishermen along this coastline have been catching bluefin tuna using an elaborate maze of nets. One of the oldest and most sustainable fishing methods in existence. At the local Tuna Museum, the story comes to life, and a ronqueo; the traditional and masterful art of breaking down the bluefin, offers a fascinating glimpse into a craft passed down through generations.

Lunch follows at a legendary local peña entirely devoted to the bluefin. The afternoon leads up to Vejer de la Frontera, your base for the next nights. As the sun begins to descend, the group heads back to the coast for a horseback ride along the wild Atlantic shoreline: the kind of ending to a day that will stay with you for a long time.

DAY 7

Where the Moorish Soul Lingers

Hotel Casa del Califa, Vejer de la Frontera

Breakfast, Lunch

Few towns in Andalucía wear their Moorish soul as openly as Vejer de la Frontera. Its labyrinthine whitewashed streets and intimate courtyards speak of eight centuries of Islamic civilization that shaped this land more profoundly than any other influence; and today, that heritage is not just observed, but lived.

The morning begins with a flamenco class, an art form whose roots reach deep into the cultural melting pot of Andalucía, where Moorish, Romani and Spanish traditions fused into something entirely its own. Lunch follows at a garden restaurant steeped in the flavors and aromas of the medieval Arab world, and the afternoon slows into private time at a traditional hammam; water, steam and stillness in their most Andalucían form. As evening falls, a private encounter with creativity and landscape at a remarkable contemporary art foundation set within a vast natural estate.

DAY 8

Slow Waters, Fine Wine

Hotel Bodega Tio Pepe, Jerez de la Frontera

Breakfast, Lunch

The morning begins with a boat journey into Doñana: one of Europe's most extraordinary natural reserves, where the Guadalquivir river meets the Atlantic across a vast mosaic of wetlands, marshes and ancient woodland. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and sanctuary for flamingos, migratory birds and the endangered Iberian lynx. A short guided walk deepens the sense of just how rare and peaceful this landscape is.

Lunch is a private affair at a winery in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, dedicated to Manzanilla; a variety of fino sherry shaped by the town's unique Atlantic microclimate, giving it a delicate salinity found nowhere else in the world.

By afternoon, Jerez de la Frontera, a city that gave the world sherry, flamenco's most serious school, and some of the finest horses in Europe. The evening is yours to explore at your own pace.

DAY 9

The Essence of Jerez

Hotel Bodega Tio Pepe, Jerez de la Frontera

Breakfast, Lunch, Farewell Dinner

DAY 10

Until Next Time

Breakfast

The morning opens with a visit to a family cooperage, one of the last of its kind in Andalucía, where master coopers still shape, toast and assemble the barrels that give Jerez sherry its soul. It is a craft measured in generations, and the smell of toasted oak alone is worth the visit.

In Andalucia, the horse is not simply an animal: it is a cultural icon, a source of civic pride, and a living art form. The Carthusian breed developed here over centuries is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, and the equestrian traditions of this region have shaped riding schools across Europe. Where the calendar allows and subject to availability, the morning may include a performance at one of Jerez's legendary equestrian schools.

Lunch is at a tabanco: part wine shop, part tavern, part living museum. These uniquely Jerezano institutions have been serving sherry straight from the barrel alongside simple, honest food since the 19th century.

The evening brings a private visit to one of the most special wineries in Andalucía; an experience that will only reveal its full magic once you are inside.

As evening falls, the group comes together one last time for a farewell dinner; a final table, a last glass raised to ten days of roads travelled, meals shared and moments that will not easily be forgotten.

Some journeys end, others simply pause. Whether you are heading home with a carry-on full of memories, or staying on to explore a little further, Andalucía has a way of making departure feel less like an ending and more like an open invitation to return. A private transfer to the Jerez airport or train station is included.
